Frequently asked questions
It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.
Does my child have to attend 40 hours per week?
No. All ABA treatment plans are individualized based on learners needs and other services. If my clinical recommendation of hours is not feasible to the family, we can collaborate to find a schedule that suits your family. In the event a family can not commit to recommended dosage of hours, we will discuss the priorities of the family.
Will my child be able to nap?
If your child requires a daily nap, you will provide a nap mat and he/she can have a break from therapy sessions to nap.
Will my child be able to play outside?
Yes!! We have a large secure backyard and therapy is sometimes conducted outside, weather permitting.
Will I have access to check on my child?
We do have a camera system in place, that you can view from the office in our clinic. You are welcomed to watch sessions and participate in parent training during a session.
Can my child work on increasing food rigidity?
In certain situations, I will do feeding therapy in the clinic. It is a goal that can always be targeted in home with family with guidance and support.
Who will be working directly with my child?
Your child will primarily be with a Registered Behavior Technician. All employees are background checked and trained before working alone with your child. BCBA will supervise the sessions 20% of the allotted therapy times.
Will my child enjoy their therapy?
In ABA we are experienced and trained in preference assessments and selecting reinforcers. We start each session with rapport building. We use stimuli-stimuli pairing aka using preferred items during the session to develop instructional control. Although there are some sessions, that can be harder most of the therapy is play based using NET, PRT, or EDSM. For some kids learning to play is hard and we use shaping to slowly increase progress.
What is a BCBA?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
"Four foundational principles, which all behavior analysts should strive to embody, serve as the framework for the ethics
standards. Behavior analysts should use these principles to interpret and apply the standards in the Code. The four core
principles are that behavior analysts should: benefit others; treat others with compassion, dignity, and respect; behave with
integrity; and ensure their own competence."
